Elemental Birth
I push
myself from the womb of
The Earth.
Crawling across the ground,
Scraping my bare legs against the
Packed soil,
Digging my nails into the dirt,
Propelling me forward
To the River.
Turbulent currents rush
Smoothing everything in its path
erode me,
I plunge deep into the opaque waters.
Ice cold shock, skin is scoured,
Carried, tumbled,
Into River rock, into the deep
cleanse me,
From the dirt hidden beneath my nails.
A gasp for breath
I heave the wet, heavy body
From the River bed,
Towards heat,
Towards Fire
Ignite me,
Hot tendrils lick the edges of my
smooth skin,
Devour me.
I step into icy hot blue flame,
Sizzling burning, it strips me down
I am ablaze.
Raw, I am alight, I cannot know where Fire
Ends,
And I begin.
Ash,
I am Ash.
The wind mingles gently with my remains,
Lifting me,
Into the Air.
Breathe me into the atmosphere,
Scatter me
Across the Earth.
Caress my being into the world.
Let me rest.
