Native to the New England town of New London, Connecticut, Joi Riden first unearthed her passion for writing as a young girl trapped in the world of her vivid imagination. Growing up in a century-old house steeped in history, each creaky floorboard and mysterious thump fueled her curiosity, inspiring tales of long-forgotten souls that seemed to haunt the very walls around her. These ghostly beginnings laid a groundwork for her fascination with the dark and eerie.
Pursuing a double degree in English and History at the College of Charleston, Joi was captivated by the haunting beauty of the Gothic South, with its hanging moss and cobblestone streets, where her love for dark histories and the enigmatic deepened. Ultimately, Joi chose to leave college behind, embarking on a journey across the United States in search of greater mysteries to explore. Currently she is revisiting the collegiate world to finish her degree in History and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University.
Joi has woven her experiences into her writing, drawing inspiration from the myriad of stories and landscapes she has encountered. She blends elements of history and the mystical. She invites readers to join her on a journey through our world's dark and beautiful corners, where every story whispers of the past and beckons to uncover the mysteries that lie just beneath the surface.
